Aurora takes you on a journey from that smooth opening title track ‘Aurora' a melodic yearning love song that is a hallmark of Beckley’s writing style. Then we’re put into the train rhythm sway song  ‘I Fall Down’ with a lovely harmonica lift.

The third track is the haunting  ‘Never Know Why’…Its opening line ‘Time and Time again we all think we have it figured out” and just when you think you have Gerry’s songwriting figured out, the song takes you, with its light piano melodic and stunning changes like a music staircase of joy.  ‘Tickets to the Past’ brings us joy of the future, with its positive mood and meander orchestral ambience. This is certainly an album that keeps you on the journey.  

Into the swagger of ‘Way to Go’ gets you on that boogie down, nod your head as you listen to an excellent driving song. Beautiful layering production of the right balances of strings and percussion and a myriad of instrumentation sitting in perfectly with layers of harmony, absolutely beautiful groove! 

Then we follow up with the whimsical tropical Cajun island good vibes of ‘Friends are to Find’. If you are not in your happy place by now, I’d be amazed.

We move into a change and darker groove ‘Peace of Mind’, a good deep slow rocker with a mystical warmth and enquiring changes, as you look for your peace of mind in the slick guitar sound with a wisp of Citar, then back in the beat. Very cool song!

‘Indies Gatho’ has the beautiful acoustic start with a slow dance vibe that builds with seduction to draw you in as an instrumental, with background voices, and an ethereal feeling, a really lovely instrumental . 

Muted drum shuffle leads you into ‘Aerial’ that has that ‘America’ sound and crackle comes in and it's Gerry down the phone line… some clever production in this song with its pulsing rhythm that keeps you hooked in. 

‘Superscope’ comes as you begin the close of your Aurora Journey … the short and beautiful little interscope 1.31 length farewell to this journey leads you into the closing track. The beautiful ‘Tears’ which rounds up an astonishingly beautiful album from a gifted artist of our generation .
